“Binding validation failed” if server not running MSMQ 4.0 or above.
Dave Dunkin has reported a confusing WCF/MSMQ error message on his blog today: Binding validation failed because the endpoint listen URI does not represent an MSMQ direct format name. The service host cannot be opened. Make sure you use a direct format name for the endpoint's listen URI. The root cause was hosting the queue on a server that was not running MSMQ 4.0. Insufficient Resources? Run away, run away!
What is the MSMQ problem that you are most likely to encounter? The dreaded "Insufficient Resources" error. Unless you have a working knowledge of how an operating system actually operates then this error is going to cause mass confusion. For starters, which resources does it mean? Disk space? No, that has GBs free. Memory? No, task manager shows that there is more than enough still unused. So what's up? I've had a look at the MSMQ FAQ for the following list of possibilities (plus one or two others): ......

At last - I have a license to use my IP

No, nothing to do with leases and TCP/IP network addresses. I've signed an agreement with Microsoft that allows me to re-use the content I wrote for my old MSDN blog. The intention is to copy across all the old blog posts, updating them if necessary, and then start writing new content. I no longer have access to the MSDN blog, having left Microsoft, so this is the best way to keep the content fresh.
