Over 6 months ago we released SharpBox 1.0.3 our last bugfix and service release. In the last few months we were focused on reworking our library core to achieve a couple of simplicity and feature goals. The importants goals from my personal perspective were: Clear and stable service provider API which allows 3rd part vendors to implement new cloud storage protocols Adding a well working WebDAV client in our API core to support all the webdav base storage providers by default Bringing our different ...

I recently acquired a Samsung Omni 7 with the Windows Phone 7 OS installed. With this device I have a new found desire to learn Windows Phone 7 programming and embarked on the endeavour by reading “Programming Windows Phone 7” by Charles Petzold (ISBN 978-0-7356-4335-2). I really enjoyed going through the book. While the one I was reading had a few spelling mistakes in it (not that I am one to point any fingers) I am sure they had been rectified before it went to print (I was reading the free ebook). ...

Hello fellow geeks! I'm kicking off this new blog with an issue that was a real nuisance, but was relatively easy to fix. During a recent Exchange 2003 to 2010 migration, one of the users was getting an error on his Windows Phone 7 device. The error code that popped up on the phone on every sync attempt was 86000C09 We tested the following: Different user on the same device: WORKED Problem user on a different device: FAILED Seemed to point (conclusively) at the user's account as the crux of the issue. ...

I wanted to get familiar with SharePoint 2010 because I have noticed how the market is starting to demand it. Also, most of the SharePoint 2010 guides on the net are outdated. They show everything from registry hacks/editing xml files to installing hot fixes/service packs. On Tuesday the 24th of May 2011, the new version of the Windows Phone 7 SDK codenamed “Mango” was released to the public in beta. This is a huge iteration with an extremely large number of new APIs. Most exciting, the version of the Silverlight framework now used in Windows Phone 7 is Silverlight 4. Thanks to this, I was able to recompile the MVVM Light Toolkit for Windows Phone 7 based on the Silverlight 4 version. This is interesting because the Silverlight 3 version had a few hacks I had to build ...

Been a busy week for me, wish it was full of XNA stuff and that is why I’m busy (and that the notes are late…again) but not the case. I’m just going to have to figure out a better way of integrating the XNA Notes into some of the stuff going on lately or maybe change my life situation so these things aren’t going on. I’m working on figuring it out both ways. But you don’t come here to read about my personal stuff, you come to see what the XNA community has been up to! So without further ado, here’s ...
A couple of days ago I had the wonderful surprise to find a mention (and a link!) to MVVM Light on USAToday.com. The article talks about the new USA Today app available for Windows Phone 7. Lately, I have been taking some time to learn some new technologies. For me, the best way to learn a new technology is to jump head first into a project: Daily deal websites such as GroupOn, LivingSocial, DealFind, etc. have really taken off over the last 6 months. With so many sites out there, my inbox was being flooded with emails from all these daily deal websites. This seemed like it might be a fun project, so I set out to build a daily deal aggregator. First, I built a Windows Phone 7 app. I ...
