No no no; I am not copying the Mobile Minute or .NET Nightly. For all i know this might be a once off thing. Nevertherless Nino and J Avery sure are an inspiration (if this becomes more than a once off thing you guys are acknowledged) Anyway just wanted to publicize some links i found 1. SharePoint free online trial 2. SharePoint on TechNet 3. SharePoint Developer Center on MSDN 4. Michael Greth's Sharepoint Weblog - probably more concise and less confusing than points 2 & 3. Best if you know ......

Halo2 Graphics

Just came across a site that has a couple of screen shots of Halo 2.

The graphics look really impressive. I am still gawking at those images.

HALO first-play
I got Halo for the PC. I've been playing it for about a day now and I am mildly disappointed. It’s a good game, the game play is good, the graphics even better, but there are things about the game that are just make the game un-interesting. First off the story line is not very gripping. There doesn’t seem to be the dire need for you to save the world and humanity from its demise. I mean you can play the game or not play the game, but you don’t feel the need to 'have to play the ......

Tech dirt had this interesting post that points to a businessweek article.

I sure can find a better use for a couple of millions that I might have lying around.

Spooky glasses Extracts The specs have a tiny television screen embedded into one of the lenses and are hooked up to a PDA. The PDA can be programmed to send messages or images to the screen. Each prompt is geared to jog the wearer's memory And all of these messages are flashed before the eye at 1/180 of a second, so the wearer isn't even conscious that they have been sent I can already think of spooky implications, like on my day off, my boss finds a way to ......

Andy Santo's SharePoint Tip
Andy Santo has a tip for SharePoint on If you dont mind Andy, I'd like to add a couple of thoughts to that. 1. If you want the code you write to be useful across many sites, theres one simple solution instead of adding multiple web references(i.e. for every site you want to change). If you peek into the constructor of reference.cs, which is generated when you add a web reference by you'd see that it has the path to the SharePoint site hardcoded. All you have to do is change ......

Wierd HttpWebRequest Issue
I was trying write a webservice client to call a webservice the hardway (i.e. soap messages, webrequests ala sockets .... well atleast something of that nature) I came across this wierd issue with the following code // Create the request HttpWebRequest webRequest = (HttpWebRequest) WebRequest.Create(uri); // Add the request headers webRequest.Method = "POST"; webRequest.ContentType = "text/xml; charset=utf-8"; webRequest.ContentLength = bodyData.Length; webRequest.Headers.Add("SOA... \" ......

Microsofts new offensive on Linux

I scooped this article off my newsreader.

It may seems as if Microsoft has had enough of all the slandering with regard to security comming from the Linux camp.

It might be a good move if the analysis shows positive results, however as with all vendor funded analysis reports credibility might be an issue.

A note to any Sharepoint 2003 Developers
Just a note, Before you develop, first check MSDN, then check to see if any of the functionality you require is not already exposed as WebServices. Sometime back I spent a lot of time (since the SDK for SPS 2003 was not released at the time) writing code to create custom lists such as Discussions and Surveys. It was kind of frustrating then to be coding in the dark, but was equally rewarding when it worked. What’s frustrating now is discovering that all I had to do was a call a WebService ......

More Vrooom for my PC

I always have wanted to own a Nissan Skyline and really mod it up, but its going to take me a couple of annual revolutions to cough up that much cash for just a few thrills on the speedway.
But in the mean time I can settle for this.

Oh Yeah!!!

Cant wait till its out in stores and go vrooom (atleast on my PC)
