Struct vs class and immutability
Last Friday, my and my colleagues were discussing structs vs classes. I said that that a struct can be made immutable and that is one difference from a class. They did not agree with me in this and said that both classes and structs can be made immutable by building them immutable (by having only read only members) but there is not language support for immutable objects. SQL Detach / Attach
I was working with a system migration where a client had moved a database server. The actual SQL Server HW was moved but not the SAN where the database MDF’s and LDF’s resided. They solved this by copying all of the data and log files onto a portable (USB) disk and sending this with the server. These files where then to copied onto the SAN at the new hosting place.
