Chris G. Williams Beware: I mix tech and personal interests here.

All I heard about for weeks... pack your parka... pack an umbrella. HA! It's not raining, and hardly even cold.

The flight was uneventful although painfully crowded. Flying into Detroit on Superbowl Sunday was interesting. That is one HUGE airport. Then we had to sit on the tarmac for about 40 minutes waiting for them to de-ice. That sucked, but the flights were pretty easy.

Got to Seattle, hopped a shuttle and hoofed it 4 blocks to my hotel only to find out that they only booked me from Wednesday to Saturday... oooops. Fortunately rooms were available anyway, so no big deal.

My brain is pretty much trained to wake exactly at 6 every morning without an alarm clock, and today was no exception. Unfortunately my brain alarm is trained to go off at 6:00 EASTERN time so I was up and wide awake at 3am this morning. Needless to say I was quite prepared for my class today. (What am I teaching?  Intense VB.NET - roughly 8 days of instruction in 5 days.)

I was at NetDesk at 6:30 am (and still NOT the first one to arrive... wow) so I got to see the sun come up from the 28th floor. very cool. It's funny Mt Rainier is easier to see at dawn then midday. What's up with that?

This afternoon I'm going to walk around some and see more of downtown. So far I haven't made it past the Cheesecake Factory and the GameWorks arcade/bar. Oh and yes... gotta work on the book some more. Must work on the book.

If you're in Seattle/Redmond and want to hang out, give me a shout!

Make sure you check out the Sci Fi museum while you're down there. It's part of the Experience Music complex, and has alot of kewl stuff, including a life-size replica of the Queen from Aliens.

Oh, and make sure to wear alot of black and yellow while you're down there...even better, tell them you're from Pittsburgh. ;)
